Multicultural Manners

I've posted a new paper on SSRN: Multicultural Manners. It's my first real paper about Montreal. It's also a bit earlier of a draft than I usually post, so comments would be especially welcome.

I've been waiting for someone to write a paper like that (albeit not having read yours yet). I think lots of the confusion around certain multicultural issues (e.g. speech and offense issues) stems from judgments we make about what is appropriate for smaller, more intimate face-to-face relationships. I.e., judgments not about justice or recognition but about "the done thing" if you want to preserve certain kinds of relationships - manners. Anyway, I am not sure yet if that's what you're arguing but I look forward to reading the paper.

I think I see what you mean, and I think my paper's in the neighborhood. I'll be curious whether you think so too.
